Slow Cooker Chicken


If you are looking for an easy way to make shredded (or pulled) chicken - look no further!

In your slow cooker add:

  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp chili powder

Whisk together.

Add 2 large chicken breasts (I had 1 large and 2 small chicken breasts). Coat in sauce and cook on low for 4 hours. Chicken should reach an internal cooking temperature of 74 C (165 F)

Use two forks to shred the chicken,

There are so many things to use this chicken for. First of all you can freeze it to have on hand when you need a quick meal.

This chicken makes excellent tacos, chicken on a bun, chicken salad sandwiches, it's great on top of a salad and my favourite in chicken chimichangas - I'll share this recipe next week.
