Hold the Fries?

Happy New Year everyone! We are really excited to kick off 2013 with a How-To Video on making delicious homemade French Fries!

French Fries? From dietitians??

Yes we know French Fries are not the healthiest choice but making them at home is a great way to make them a little healthier by controlling the amount and type of fat you use and what you season them with.

Michele shows us how to bake these fries using a small amount of vegetable oil and a little salt and pepper. Other seasoning possibilities include Cajun, paprika, chili powder, or cumin & fennel. Really the possibilities are endless!

Homemade French Fries
Ingredients:
  • 6 medium potatoes (skin on)
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • Seasoning (whichever type you’d like)

Wash and scrub potatoes and cut into thin wedges. Add vegetable oil and seasoning. Toss in oil and place on baking sheet with parchment paper. Bake for 35-40 minutes, flipping half way. Makes 4 servings.

Tell us your favourite way to season your homemade French Fries.

                                                                        Until next week!
